To Therapists and Clients: Therapy as a Safe Adventure

As an academic, I was taught to qualify every statement and never assume to really “know” anything for sure. I am now going to break that rule.

Addressing Clinicians

As a clinician speaking to other clinicians, I want to ask: What are you seeking in a therapy model? Would you like a model that feels like coming home – taking the way you have always wanted to connect with your clients and specifying it? Would you like a therapy that helps you tune into your clients’ inner and relational world accurately – one that offers a map to our basic needs, fears, and stuck places?

A Key Sequence for Lasting Change

Would you like a therapy that offers you a key sequence of interventions that predictably leads to change events outlined in research studies – events that predict lasting change? Do you want a specific picture of what an emotional epiphany or corrective emotional experience looks like and how to get there with your clients? Are you aiming to shape lasting significant changes, changes in models of self and of others, and growth in your clients – whether individuals, couples, or families, not just a reduction of symptoms?

A Global Perspective

Over the last 30 years, research on Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples (EFCT) and for individuals (EFIT) has shown that the EFT model offers all of these things. Our training consistently receives the highest ratings possible worldwide – in Finland, in Egypt, in the UK, and wherever they are offered.

A Safe Haven for Growth

As a client, I bet that you want your therapy sessions to be a safe haven where you can explore and grow with an attuned, supportive therapist who sees and understands you. You likely want this therapist to guide you safely into your more difficult and distressing places so that you can deal with them more effectively. You probably hope your therapist has a map and a way through your dark, stuck places, leading you through into the light. Most likely, you want breakthroughs in your sessions that lead to lasting changes in how you feel about yourself, how confident you feel in life, and how you connect with others.

Connecting Therapists and Clients

We believe that a trained EFT therapist can offer you these things. You can find such a therapist on the www.iceeft.com site.
